For my watercolor painting I chose a rose because of its fullness and shadows. I wanted to be able to show shadows using warm and cool colors. What I noticed when painting was that I used reds in both pictures; the only difference is that one is a warm red and the other is a cool red. I applied different shadow by using other colors. For example in my warm colored painting, the shadow would be the bright red but in the cool colored painting the shadow would be the electric blue. The areas with the most harmony would be the petals because of how its colors change throughout. The areas with the most contrast would be where the petals meet. There is a darker shade of paint on the other petal which is meant to imply a different petal. To improve my painting I would work on the way my colors work together and how they meet.
